A little bit about the folks behind Cooks Boulevard:

Sara

Originally from the Northeastern side of the this country, Sara has happily landed in San Francisco for the time being. She can rattle off all the local farmer's markets and is slowly checking them off her "visited" list. Quinoa tops her favorite year round ingredient because it can be used in many different recipes that will satisfy her sweet, spicy, savory, or saucy cravings (along with being a fabulous form of complete protein). Other than that, seasonal favorites range from asparagus to snap peas and persimmons to nectarines and buying in bulk brings her joy. What she misses the most from the east coast are Maine's wild blueberries but that is what care packages of homemade blueberry jam is great for! She would never pass up a good wooden spoon or silicone spatula. Both go well with her favorite kitchen apparatuses, a cast iron skillet and food processor. Loves working at Cooks Boulevard for the community of people who come in with food and cooking questions because it makes her feel part of the process. Creativity in the kitchen and lending her knowledge about food and nutrition is truly her passion.

MarthaLuz

MarthaLuz's ease and comfort around cooking and baking has stemmed from years among the tools of the trade. Starting at home, then in Santa Cruz, she currently makes her home in San Francisco. Any cooking and especially baking questions are welcomed her way where she will draw upon her rolodex of knowledge or turn to her favorite food blogs for the answer. And for those of you who don't have this somewhat essential entertaining (for others or just your sandwich) item, MarthaLuz recommends checking out the Messermeister cheese knife. Simple and practical with the perfect blend of slicing ease and poking ability.
