Calling Book Worms and Food Fanatics!

by Sara

Need a good start-of-summer read?!

How about the newly released Hungry Monkey: A Food-Loving Father's Quest To Raise An Adventurous Eater by Matthew Amster-Burton?

Hungry Monkey

We’re hosting our first book club on Wednesday, July 8th at 7pm in the shop.

There is no need to sign up, but we would love to know who is on board (we need to round up enough chairs!)

All you need to bring is yourself; the snacks are on us.

A glance on the book's website explains this is “a memoir on the wild joys of food and parenting and the marvelous mélange of the two, [taking] food enthusiasts on a new adventure in eating (with dozens of delicious recipes!). In the end, our guide reminds us: “Food is fun, and you get to enjoy it three times a day, plus snacks!””

We will have copies of the book on Friday so come on down and check them out.

You can read more information and read reviews about the book on the official website. After reading Matthew’s quite humorous blog, which I would strongly recommend perusing through, it turns out he was on NPR this week talking about feeding kids and on CBS with his daughter, Iris. Very cool guy.

And one more thing about Matthew -- he will be reading a bit of the book at BookShop West Portal tomorrow (Thursday), May 28th at 7pm!
